It’s almost turkey time! Here are the themes and important dates for November.
Our theme is Thank you God for all our Blessings!
The units we will study this month are The First Thanksgiving, Turkeys, and Thankfulness.
Our Bible verse is- Do not forget to do good to others and share with them what you have.-Hebrews 13:16
Handwriting– We are working on letters N, M and H. Please send in pictures or items that start with these letters each week. We are also working on writing numbers. We will review the letters we have studied.
Reading– Some of the books we will read are Thanksgiving Is For Giving Thanks, T is for Turkey, The Very First Americans, Squanto’s Journey, Thanksgiving Day, If You Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620, The Pilgrims’ First Thanksgiving, 10 Fat Turkeys, One is a Feast for a Mouse, The Nutty Nut Chase, Thanksgiving for Emily Ann, and The Night Before Thanksgiving.
We continue to work on letters and letter sounds. The children are good at telling if the letter sound is at the beginning, middle, or end of a word.
Social Studies- We will talk about the history of Thanksgiving. (Mayflower, Pilgrims and Indians)
Science- This month we will study seeds and the life cycle of a pumpkin.
Math- We continue to review writing numbers, counting, and number order. We will work on telling time to the hour, addition, and the months of the year. Please practice writing numbers 1-10 at home.
Important Dates- We will have a food drive in November and more information will be coming later.
