Hello Parents,

The last two weeks of October seemed to fly by with all of the activities at LCLC! The children closed out the month with a visit to the Lighthouse Pumpkin Patch, a Harvest Party, “Exploding” Pumpkins and Blow Paint Monsters! Not to mention all the fun and learning that occurred within our classroom as well. We had a blast with our version of a pumpkin patch. The event took place in the Barn, Ms. Amy dressed up as the sweetest scarecrow, taught a lesson about how pumpkins grow and read a book about pumpkin seeds while the children ate a special snack. All of this…IN ADDITION TO…picking out their own special little pumpkins! It was great fun!! The Harvest Party was fantastic and the kids had a super time in our spooktacularly decorated classroom. They had lunch, a yummy dessert and made pumpkins with stickers. Kudos to the party mommas Jocelyn and Summer (Chloe’s mom and Gabe’s mom) who organized the gathering and came in to run the party! Big thanks to ALL of you for ALL of your help!

On Halloween Day we made Blow Paint Monsters with straws, paint and our own hot air. It was so much fun watching the paint move around on the paper as we blew through the straws and our monsters began to take shape. Hope you enjoy them! We had Pumpkin cheese puffs for snack, ate for a minute without the lights and then listened to a fun book “The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything” (ask the kids about what she heard….boots that said… a pair of pants that said…two white gloves that said…and a pumpkin face that said…). To end our day, Ms. Jess, the science wizard, wowed the kids with a pumpkin volcano (which the kids decided was a pumpkin throwing up)!

Please enjoy the pictures below and know that Jess and I love your children like our own!

Blessings,

Kim Johnson
