Hi parents! October sure went by fast. The children really enjoyed learning about the life cycle of the pumpkin, fall harvest time, scarecrows, the change of seasons, leaves, acorns, and our letters, shape and numbers for the month.  We enjoyed a wonderful pumpkin patch led by “scarecrow Amy” in Music, Fun and Fitness last week. Amy led the children in a fun exercise to learn about how a pumpkin grows; she read pumpkin stories; led the children in songs; and each child was delighted to pick out their very own little pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. I brought in a giant pumpkin and carved it with the children and each child got a turn sticking their hands in the “goo” inside. It was super fun! We ended the day with our Fall Harvest Party and enjoyed treats provided by Landon’s mom. November has started off with our favorite fall song, “Hello Mr. Turkey how are you?” And we decorated our turkey with the turkey feathers that each child brought in. Keep collecting pretty fall leaves at  home with your child and send them in for a fun turkey craft we’ll make next week. In this season of Thanksgiving we are most grateful for your sweet children – they are a blessing to us!
