Happy Fall! Here are the themes and important dates for October.
Our theme is God’s Great Harvest.
The units we will study this month are Community Helpers/Fire Safety, and Harvest Time-Leaves and Pumpkins.
Our Bible verse is- The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. – Hebrews 13:6
Handwriting– We are working on letters D,P,B,and R . Please send in pictures or items that start with these letters each week. We are working on writing first names as well as numbers.
Reading– Some of the books we will read are Four Seasons for Little People, Clifford the Firehouse Dog, I Am a Leaf, Fall Mixed Up, Leaf Trouble, Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins, and From Seed to Pumpkin. We will continue learning letter sounds with our zoo-phonics animals.
Social Studies- We will talk about being part of a community and all of the helpers in a community. (doctors, teachers, librarians, firemen, policemen, mailmen, etc.)
Science- This month we will study the seasons and with a focus on fall and also the life cycle of a pumpkin.
Math- We continue to review writing numbers, counting, and number order. We will talk about counting by fives and tens, counting money, and telling time to the hour. We will also do some graphing and estimation.
