Happy New Year!
Our theme is God’s Winter Wonderland.
Our Bible verse is “Come follow me,” Jesus said. “And I will make you fishers of men.”- Matthew 4:19
The units we will study are New Beginnings, Winter, and Winter Animals. We will be talking about snow and have some fun with snowmen.
Handwriting– Our letters this month are U, V, W, and X. We will also work on writing our last names.
Reading– We will read books on winter weather and winter animals as well as a biography on Martin Luther King and The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. We will do some literature activities with Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright and The Mitten by Jan Brett.
Math– We will continue writing numbers, adding/subtracting, counting by tens, graphing, telling time to the hour, and working with money.
Science– This month our theme is melting and freezing. We will learn how to use a thermometer and record the temperature each day. We may even make a snowman melt! Rob Fowler will be coming to talk to us about weather.
