Devotion: I told them the story of George Washington and the Cherry Tree and watched the story on the Smartboard. We talked about the importance of telling the truth and how it is one of God’s commandments. Ask your child to tell you about the story and remind them that it takes courage to tell the truth. We also read a devotion on hard working turtles, which taught us to never give up!

Books We Read: My Little T Book, When Tilly Turtle Came To Tea, The Crayon Box That Talked, I Am Thankful Each Day and The Tortoise And The Hair..

Science: We talked about the four seasons and the changes a tree goes through during the different seasons. We made a precious craft to reinforce what we learned. Did you know the seasons change as the earth rotates around the sun? The children also learned some interesting Tiger and Turtle facts. Did you know a sea turtle can swim as deep as a submarine?

Math: We counted by 1’s to 24 (the amount of marbles in our 100th day jar). They love counting the marbles, ask them how many days they have had school so far, I hope they can tell you! We also started learning simple addition using the Storybots website on the Smartboard!

HWT: We used one big line and one little line to form the letter T. We formed the letter in many different ways and finished the week by tracing it. We also highlighted the upper and lower case T in a poem.

Drawing: The children drew pictures of things that begin with T, we drew everything from tigers to trucks.

Journal: The children drew a picture of what a tree looks like during their favorite season,we had mostly winters and springs.

Pictures were taken during centers and Music, Fun and Fitness
