Devotion: Our M scripture was 1 John 3:18. My little children, let us not love in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth. Our animal devotions were Masked Meerkats and Monkey Business. Ask your child to tell you what they learned about each animal and how God shows us his truths through them.
Books We Read: My Little M Book, Monkey’s Miserable Monday, There is a Monster at the End of This Book, Wacky Wednesday, The Cat In The Hat, The Cat In The Hat Comes Back and There’s A Wocket In My Pocket.
Science: We talked about magnets, the children were fascinated! We did a group science experiment to learn what attracts and what repels magnets and also watched a Smartboard science show about it. Did you know magnets attract Cobalt, Iron, and Nickel? The children also spent time in centers with various types of magnets to explore.
Math: We counted by 1’s and 10’s up to 100. They are so excited about reaching 100th day, only 7 more school days!!!! The children sorted money (coins) in center time as they are learning the value of each coin.
HWT: Four big lines form the letter M. We used the HWT manipulatives to help us learn how to form the letter, and also practiced writing it a few times. We highlighted the upper case and lower case M in a poem about M & M’s.
Drawing: The children drew pictures of things that begin with M. They drew everything from mountains to monkeys.
We had a wonderful week celebrating Dr Seuss! See pictures below-check out Max dressed up for Wacky Wednesday!
The children had such an awesome morning with our moms at Muffins with Mom! Thank you so much for coming mamas!
