Devotion: Our D scripture was Do all things without complaining and disputing. Philippians 2:14. We also read a devotion called Dogs On The Job. It taught us that there is a time for work and a time for play. The devotion came from a book called Five Minute Devotions and it uses all of the wonderful animals God created. The children love them!

Books We Read: My Little D Book, Detective Dog and the Disappearing Doughnuts, How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?.

Science: This week we talked about Dogs and Dolphins. We learned all kinds of interesting facts about them both and watched some cool videos on the Smartboard. Did you know that there are 40 species of dolphin? The bottle nose species is the most well known.

Math: We counted by 1’s up to 78 and 10’s up to 100. We also played math games on the Smartboard. Each week we use many math skills in the various activities we do in the classroom. We start writing numbers after we finish the alphabet.

HWT: A big line and a big curve make the letter D. We used the HWT manipulatives to help us learn, and also practiced writing it. We highlighted the upper case and lower case D in a poem about dinosaurs……that lower case d is tricky!!

Journal:  The children drew pictures of things that begin with the letter D. They  drew everything from donuts to dinosaurs.

It was such a treat to have the our dads today for Donuts with Dad, we had so much fun!!! Thank you to all dads for taking the time to come in, we were honored to have you!
