Happy New Year School Families!
First let me say a huge THANK YOU for showering Ms. Janine and I with Christmas love. The thoughtful cards, gifts and generous gift cards was overwhelming and much appreciated. Thank you!
We had lots of silly fun this week with letter S-including a snowball fight…see below for details and pictures of our week…
Reading/Writing/Drawing: Snakes and Lizards, Snowmen at Night, Surfer Chick, Sneezy the Snowman and Seal’s Silly Sandwich.
The class learned to recognize, sound and write the letter S. To write the letter S, we start at the top and “skate” a little curve then change direction and “skate” another little curve. The Zoophonic for letter S is: snake (sammy snake): Move your hand forward in the serpentine manner of a snake, saying /s/. (Sustain sound.)
Math: Sequencing, Subitizing and Sorting Skittles.
Science: The class learned many interesting facts about snakes and made a snake craft for our Creation books. We also learned about precipitation (snow) and participated in a fun experiment making fake snow. So Cool! I think all would agree the most fun was had during the snowball fight using super-sized marshmallows!
Next week we will celebrate letter J. Important dates this month: Donuts with Daddy on the 24th, LCLC open house on the 22nd and MLK Day (no school) on the 21st.
Have a great weekend!
In Christ,
Ms. Erin
