Hello Parents!
The second half of March flew by in quite a few ways. :0)
We jumped from the rhyming world of Dr. Seuss right into the world of nursery rhymes. The children had fun repeating us as we read aloud some of the classics. I hope you enjoyed their artistic renditions as much as they enjoyed creating them! One morning we decided to make the story of the “Three Little Pigs”
come alive. Jess and I divided the class into 3 groups and each group represented one of the three little pigs and their houses. As teams, we built 3 houses….one of straw (which were actually pipe cleaners and tape), one of sticks (which were popsicle sticks and tape) and the last of bricks (which were oversized Lego’s). Once the houses were built, Jess and I tried to blow them down! The kids helped as well…..SO MUCH FUN and a great way to bring hands on science into the classroom! Great pictures!
We learned about St. Patrick’s Day and Leprechauns. We even had a visit from a feisty little Leprechaun on Monday who turned our room upside down, left green footprints everywhere, a tiny Leprechaun hat and gold coin as a treat for all the kids!
We learned all about the letter “W” and we had Wacky Wednesday. The Oyster Roast, which many of you attended….was a great success! Many thanks for your support and thanks to those of you who helped in various ways to make the day as successful as it was. :0)
Monday our school had a visit from Ms. Becky and her “Box of Puppets”. Ms. Becky is a wonderful woman and does the most amazing interactive puppet shows. The children laughed, clapped and cheered the entire time (so did the teachers to be honest!).
Thank you all so much for your love and support during the last half of the month. We hope you enjoy the photos we were able to take and look forward to the rest of the school year!
God Bless you all!
Ms. Kim
