Two weeks ago we introduced the letter ” L”. Our week was abruptly cut short due to hurricane Florence. Last week we picked up where we left off and had fun learning about the letter “L”. We worked in our journals each day and finished up the week by working in our work books. Throughout the week we also worked on a highlight poem, letter die cuts and color cut and glue. This work will be placed in your child’s journal and will be sent home at the end of the year. We used HWT manipulatives to write the letter “L”. Each week we will use Roll-A -Dough, Stamp and See and Wet Dry Try to learn to write our letter of the week. We used Zoo-phonics to sound out the letter. We read The Grouchy Lady Bug, Library Lion and Llama Llama Mad At Mama. You will be happy to know that when we asked the children if they ever got mad at their mamas they all said “No”! So to all you mamas, not to worry, you are doing a great job! We also did an experiment using a lollipop and water. We wanted to see if the lollipop in the cup of water would remain a solid or dissolve into a liquid. We loved listening to the children giving their hypotheses on what would happen to the lollipop. Some thought it would melt, and some thought it would explode. Their answers were priceless! We enjoyed going to Music, Fun and Fitness with Ms. Amy and had fun with stem play.
